About CCS

In early 1995, a small group of concerned Christian parents united to pursue starting a Christian school in the Roanoke Valley area. After months of hard work, prayer, and planning, Cornerstone Christian School opened its doors with 32 students on August 26, 1996. CCS is an independent, nondenominational Christian school which currently operates at 413 Washington Avenue in Weldon, NC.

CCS strives to instill in its students a personal sense of responsibility to be all that God wants them to be spiritually, academically, and socially. In addition to providing instruction of high academic quality, the primary focus of CCS is laying a firm Christian foundation for the students, a foundation built upon The Solid Rock -- Jesus Christ. As a testimony to our "Christian" name, CCS is established upon these five bedrocks:

1) A Christian philosophy
2) A Christian faculty and staff
3) Christian textbooks
4) Christian families/students
5) Christian goals

CCS currently offers kindergarten through 12th grades.

Students at CCS are administered the Stanford Achievement Test, a national standardized test, at the end of every school year. Overall results have been outstanding.
